How The Mortgage Record makes money
Right now this site earns nothing: no ads, no sponsors, no affiliate or referral links, no lender relationships. No paid rankings. Pass or fail is never for sale.
What we never do
- We never sell rankings or placements. We don't publish rankings or 'best' lists, and no one can pay to appear on the site.
- We don't grade lenders. Our Register gives loan originators a pass or fail against our published standard. We don't grade lenders, their rates or their products.
- No affiliate, commission or referral links or fees. We don't get paid when you click a link, apply for a loan, or close one.
- We don't sell leads. We don't sell or share your contact details with lenders or anyone else. RESPA Section 8 (12 U.S.C. 2607) prohibits giving or accepting any fee, kickback or thing of value for referring settlement-service business on a federally related mortgage loan, and prohibits unearned fee splits.
- No paid "verified" badges. No one can pay for a finding, a badge or a correction.
